Indian River County Beaches & Parks
Along it's twenty one miles of coastline, Indian River County has many full service beaches and public access beaches. Many of our full service beaches have picnic tables, pavilions and grills for the perfect cookout as well as showers, bathrooms and playgrounds to help you enjoy a day at the beach with friends or family. Beach volleyball is common at most of the beaches in the area and there are many nice boardwalks for leisurely walks down the beach without all the sand. The Sebastian Inlet State Park has a full range of camping facilities, a pier for fishing and a tidal pool where you can let the kids play safe from the waves. The Sebastian Inlet is also home to some of the best surf on the east coast and is regularly host to surf contests. Some of the other popular spots with surfers in the area include South beach, Wabasso Beach and Spanish House.

On the Indian River and our mainland we have a variety of parks. Riverside Park has courts for volleyball, tennis and basketball. There is a large open field which is used frequently for kitesurfing and an exercise area that is well shaded with large oaks. There are two bathroom facilities, and pavilions with picnic tables and grills can be found throughout Riverside Park. The boat ramp has enough room for two boats to use the launch at once and docks running down both sides for easy loading and unloading. While at Riverside Park there is also lots of entertainment within walking distance like Riverside Theater, the Vero Beach Museum of Art, Riverside Cafe, Bob Summers Field and a dog park.
Pocahontas Park, located in downtown Vero Beach, has a nice large playground, tennis courts, water fountains, bathrooms and shaded park benches. Come enjoy The Downtown Vero Farmers' Market featured next door at the Heritage Center every Friday 9AM-2PM. Charles Park which is near Vero Beach High School has a lot of the same amenities as Pocahontas Park but it also has a large exercise area with lots of shade trees. Sports like baseball, basketball, tennis and volleyball are common at many of the parks in Indian River County, but one very unique park is the City of Sebastian Skate Facility. The skate park is layed out over 7,700 square feet with a mini section of mostly 2' heights and a big section of 6' heights. All entrants to the park must have a signed notarized waiver on file and proper ID. Park hours are Monday-Friday 4pm to 9pm, Saturday 10am to 10pm, Sunday 12pm to 9pm. Summer month hours are Monday -Saturday 10am to 10pm, Sunday 12pm to 10pm.
